Union was doing direct trade before the term became a marketing device. Jeremy Torz and Steven macatonia have been travelling to origin and paying above-market prices to farmers since 2001. Revelation is their core espresso blend: two or three origins rotated by season, dialled in to pull between 25 and 30 seconds at around 93 degrees.
The flavour profile sits in dark chocolate and dried fruit with enough body to hold up through milk. It works as espresso, as a long black, and as a flat white without tipping into bitterness. Grind it fresh, pull at nine bars, and you will not find a better value daily driver at this price.
