Pump Street make chocolate in Suffolk from scratch — sourcing directly from farms, roasting the beans themselves, grinding and tempering everything in-house. The Jamaica 75% is one of the more unusual bars in a consistently strong range. Bachelor’s Hall is one of the few remaining fine-flavour cacao estates in Jamaica, and the result tastes like it: rich, complex, with a long finish that moves through dried fruit into something closer to dark rum. At £7.95 for 70g, it’s not supermarket chocolate. It’s also not comparable to anything you’ll find there.
