Kenneth Grange designed the Type 75 in 1975 and the mechanism has not needed changing. Three springs work in constant tension against each other: you move the arm, it stays exactly where you leave it. No knobs, no ratchets, nothing to tighten. The Mini version brings the head diameter down to 95mm, making it the right scale for a tight desk or a bedside table without feeling like a toy.
The shade is die-cast aluminium with a diffused inner surface that distributes light evenly. Anglepoise supplies it with an integrated LED module, 320 lumens, 2700K warm white, built to last the lifetime of the lamp. The base is solid enough to stay put; the cable exits cleanly through the back.
